Sustainable Ways advocates, educates and demonstrates sustainable living in the Wet Mountain Valley through projects, tours and workshops. Sustainable behavior is promoted in areas of healthy food production, recycling, renewable energy, protection of natural resources and other earth-friendly choices.
Sustainable Ways has served as the parent organization of High Country Recycling, and the two organizations are beginning the process of merging their boards to become one combined organization.
Sustainable Ways collaborates with other community organizations including Custer County School District, Altitude Community Fitness, High Altitude Garden Club, Westcliffe Seed Lending Library, Westcliffe Farmers’ Market, Colorado Open Lands, Custer County Kids Council, West Custer County Library and the CSU Extension Office to support their missions. Partnerships with these and other local non-profits benefit the public and create stronger ties within the community.
We are always looking for volunteers who share our mission. Sustainable Ways is good for you and good for the Valley.
