High Mountain Hay Fever Bluegrass Festival (HMHF) is the sponsoring nonprofit organization of an annual four-day bluegrass festival in Westcliffe. HMHF has raised close to 1 million dollars for local children’s health and other charities thanks to the 100s of local volunteers working year-round to bring bluegrass talent from across the country to the Wet Mountain Valley the second weekend of July. The community spirit of our volunteers embodies our motto, “Small Scale, Big Time”, ensuring the Festival maintains its intimacy and hospitality, welcoming 4-month-olds to 90-year-olds to the beautiful festival grounds.
The Festival also features the High Mountain Hayseeds music camp for children and youth. The free Hayseeds camp is led by a team of world-class musicians and music educators and the kids participating in the camp take the festival stage to perform as the final act of the weekend. HMHF – great music, great place, great cause.
